⊞ install on Windows
Use the Mirror Mind Windows installer.
Windows has its own native installer. It installs Mirror Mind, Pi, prerequisites, and the Windows Desktop Frame so you can onboard from a guided window instead of assembling the runtime by hand.
Download the installer
Download the current Windows installer from the Mirror Core release that carries the Windows Desktop Frame.
The installer is not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen may warn before execution. You can verify the release on GitHub.
Run MirrorMind-Setup
The installer detects and installs missing prerequisites, including Git, Node.js LTS, uv, and Pi. It clones Mirror into the stable local app directory and prepares the desktop frame.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\MirrorMind\
app\ stable Mirror checkout
bin\ launchers and support scripts
frame\ Windows Desktop Frame
logs\ install diagnostics
Complete guided onboarding
Open the Mirror Mind shortcut. The Windows Frame guides your `.env`, OpenRouter configuration, Pi login, `memory init`, and seed flow. Pi owns its own login credentials. Mirror keeps your identity and memory local.
Verify your mirror
Use the Mirror Mind window and ask naturally:
- list my journeys
- list my personas
- show my Mirror Mind commands
- help me think through an idea using Mirror Mind
If the Frame cannot start, open the `Mirror Mind (Terminal)` shortcut and ask the same things there.
About Mirror Desktop
The Tauri Mirror Desktop alpha is macOS-only today. Windows uses the Mirror Mind installer and Windows Desktop Frame until a separate Windows release path exists for Mirror Desktop.
